RICHFIELD, Ohio, (May 24, 2022) — Nexen Tire America, Inc., a worldwide leader in high-performance, passenger, SUV/light truck and winter tire technology, today announced it will once again serve as the title sponsor and official presenting partner of the 2022 Manchester City Cup Presented by Nexen Tire which takes place this Memorial Day Weekend, May 26-30 at the Surf Cup Sports Complex in Del Mar, California and the SoCal Sports Complex in nearby Oceanside. Nexen Tire’s involvement continues to help shape the Manchester City Cup as one of the largest, most competitive and most influential youth-soccer tournaments across the United States. Like previous years, the Nexen Manchester City Cup features both boys’ and girls’ teams competing across all age groups, from under 8 to under 19.
This year, Nexen Tire is inviting soccer fans to experience an exciting new crossover sport called TeqBall which uses a curved table and mixes both football and table tennis. Fans will who visit the Nexen activation zone get the chance to try their skills on the TeqBall table with help from professional TeqBall athletes at each location over the weekend. In addition to giveaways being provided to those who participate, attendees are encouraged to register to win one of two TeqBall tables being raffled on day four of the tournament.

The Nexen Manchester City Cup is hosted by Manchester City Football Club – 2017 & 2018 English Premier League Champions – and Surf Cup Sports, a youth-soccer events-management program in the United States. The tournament was created with the goal in mind of providing local national and international, youth teams a place to come together and participate in friendly competition. The tournament also provides aspiring young players a platform to set and achieve their goals and promote personal growth.
