October 2011: It proved to be another winning week for Druh Belts & Buckles with two more Druh fans taking top honours on the international golf stage: England’s Lee Slattery secured the Bankia Madrid Masters on the European Tour whilst Christina Kim of the US took the Sicilian Ladies Italian Open title on the Ladies European Tour on Sunday (October 9).
For the Challenge Tour graduate, the Spanish trophy marked 33-year-old Slattery’s first ever win on the European Tour after an incredible 183 starts and earned him a tidy cheque of over Euros 166,000.
Meanwhile on the Italian island of Sicily, Californian Kim recorded her debut Ladies European Tour win to add to her two LPGA victories that she won in 2004 and 2005. The 27-year-old outgunned local favourite, Giulia Sergas, by four shots thanks to a tournament total of 209, seven shots under par.
These two triumphs come hot on the heels of double success enjoyed by Druh last week when Mark Mouland recorded his maiden title on the European Senior Tour at the Belas Clube de Campo Senior Open de Portugal near Lisbon and Matthew Baldwin secured hi debut Challenge Tour win at the Fred Olsen Challenge de Espana at Tecina Golf in Spain.
Little wonder that Druh Belts & Buckles are clearly perceived internationally as the ‘Choice of Champions’ and recognised as the number one belt on tour.
