HORSESHOE BAY, TEXAS (July 25, 2011) – Horseshoe Bay Resort’s Apple Rock championship Robert Trent Jones, Sr. course recently was voted “Texas’ Top Course” by Texas Meetings + Events magazine’s Summer issue. The award is given to golf courses and resorts that cater to all levels of golfers by striking a balance between meetings and fun.
“There are so many beautiful courses in Texas that offer wonderful features and amenities,” said Glenn Lee, Horseshoe Bay Resort’s director of golf, who has been a member of the PGA of America since 1991 and recently was elected as president of The Southern Texas Professional Golf Association. “It is an honor to accept an award that highlights Apple Rock as the top course in Texas.”
Located in high, rocky terrain and designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., Apple Rock is widely known as one of the most scenic courses in the state, spanning 147 acres along the shores of Lake LBJ in the rolling Texas Hill Country and is a wonderful addition to the golf offerings at Horseshoe Bay Resort.
The resort is home to two additional Robert Trent Jones, Sr.- designed courses, Slick Rock and Ram Rock, as well as a made-to-scale, 18-hole, par 72 Bermuda-grass putting course, Whitewater. Summit Rock, the highly-anticipated Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, is set to open in fall 2011.
