ZO’S SUMMER GROOVE TEES OFF FOR FIRST TIME ON LEGENDARY FAIRMONT TURNBERRY ISLE RESORT’S CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF COURSES
~ Alonzo Mourning Charities to celebrate event’s 15th year of benefitting Overtown Youth Center and Honey Shine Mentoring Program~
WHAT
NBA champion and Miami Heat great Alonzo Mourning will kickoff the 15th annual Zo’s Summer Groove, presented by the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino- with the event’s popular Golf Classic at a new, more prestigious location this year– Fairmont Turnberry Isle. This legendary 300-acre retreat is where Zo and other famous sports athletes and celebrities regularly golf and are members of the resort’s distinguished membership club. Participants of the Hublot Watches and Coca-Cola Golf Classic will get a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to play alongside the former basketball player and star friends on the exclusive Raymond Floyd-redesigned championship courses. This year’s participants include Bruce Smith, Jason Taylor, Eric Spoelstra, Clyde Drexler, Kenny Lofton, Gerald Henderson, Steve Smith and Roland Martin. In addition, several students from the Overtown Youth Center will participate in the Golf Classic.
Hublot Watches, the official timekeeper for the Miami Heat and a huge supporter of Alonzo Mourning Charities and its Sponsor-A-Student program, will also present a watch valued at over $20,000 to anyone who makes a hole-in-one during the tournament. All proceeds from the much-anticipated weekend will benefit Alonzo Mourning Charities, which has raised more than $7 million for the Overtown Youth Center and Honey Shine Mentoring Program since its inception.
