June 1, 2011 (Atlantic Canada) Golf Coastal Canada (www.golfcoastalcanada.com), a consortium of golf destinations along Canada’s Atlantic seaboard – New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, is catering to women’s rising interest in the game of Golf. Offering Ladies-focused Golf Tournaments, Ladies Golf Clinics and Ladies Golf Getaway Packages, Golf Coastal Canada is making golf the new way for women to bond, have fun, be active and perfect their swing.
  • Golf Prince Edward Island features a New “Girl’s Weekend” Package, offering women a long weekend escape to practice their craft. This three-night package includes a round at Green Gables Golf Club (adjacent to the Anne of Green Gables house), and a round at the renowned Links at Crowbush Cove, with accommodations at Rodd Crowbush Golf & Beach Resort. Pricing varies and is based on double occupancy.
  • Golf New Brunswick makes it easy for ladies to feel comfortable about learning and practicing their golf swing. Every Thursday night between June 2nd and July 21st, New Brunswick’s Grand Falls Golf Club hosts “Ladies Nights,” from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, offering drop-in clinics for women. Each week will focus on a different golf technique (June 2: The Golf Swing with Irons; June 9: Putting, June 16: Hybrids; June 23: Chipping; July 7: Drivers; July 14: Pitching; July 21: Bunkers). Clinics are priced at $10 each.
  • This year, Golf Newfoundland and Labrador will host its Tenth Annual Ladies Invitational Event at the Gander Golf Club. This tournament will take place Friday, July 1st – Sunday, July 3rd and is intended for both the casual as well as the more committed female golfer. It will consist of 3 rounds of golf on this fabulous 18-hole course: a practice round on Friday and Tournament rounds on both Saturday and Sunday. Prizes will also be awarded to the golfer with the Longest Drive, the Closest to the Pin and the Closest to the Keg.
Two NEW sections have been added to the 2011 tournament, including the “Non-Handicap” section (with teams that have 2 or less golfers with a current established handicap) and the “Handicap” section (with teams that have 2 or more golfers with a current established handicap.
Tournament team entries (of 4 people per team) are priced at $480/team.
