GOLFWEEK ARCHITECTURE SUMMIT INVITES GOLFERS TO EXPERIENCE PINEHURST WITH TOM FAZIO

ORLANDO, Fla. (August 10, 2016) — Registration is now open for the 2016 Golfweek Architecture Summit, which will honor renowned course architect Tom Fazio. This three-day event (Nov. 28-30) at Pinehurst Resort celebrates some of Fazio’s finest work, all while giving attendees the chance to play Pinehurst’s No. 4 and No. 8 courses, as well as to learn more about golf architecture from Fazio himself.

“Golfweek has paid homage to some remarkable course architects over the last three years at our annual Architecture Summit,” said Bradley S. Klein, Golfweek senior writer and golf architecture expert. “This year we are so excited to recognize the outstanding achievements of Tom Fazio, whose course designs have realized prolific commercial success.”

With 22 Fazio designs/co-designs on Golfweek’s Best Modern Courses list, it’s evident the famed architect played a vital role in revolutionizing the face of the golf landscape during the boom period of modern course design (1990-2005). Best known for his extreme site transformations, Fazio has been a trendsetter in an elite tier of the marketplace, and next year he’ll welcome his first major when the PGA Championship comes to Quail Hollow Golf Club in North Carolina – a course Fazio has redesigned and rerouted over the last decade.

In addition to hearing directly from the event’s headliner, this year’s Golfweek Architecture Summit attendees will learn from a host of prominent keynote speakers, including some of Fazio’s closest colleagues and clients. Guests will also get to experience two of Pinehurst’s championship courses, enjoy group dinners/breakfasts and attend educational seminars from leading experts in the golf course design industry.
