PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – PGA and LPGA Professionals have the opportunity to compete in the inaugural PGA Fashion & Demo Experience Pro-Pro Tournament, presented by health and wellness company, Magic Nutrition, on Monday, Aug. 18, at the top-ranked Cascata Golf Club just outside of Las Vegas in Boulder City, Nevada. The tournament features a $25,000 purse, with the first-place team receiving $10,000, second place – $5,000, third place – $3,000, fourth place – $2,500 and fifth place – $2,000. (All prizes are based on a full field of 60 two-person teams.)
The pro-pro 18-hole best-ball tournament begins with a 9 a.m. shotgun start at Cascata, a Rees Jones-designed layout at the base of the Red Mountains that is listed among several top rated public golf courses in the United States. Two-person teams play as partners in foursomes, with mixed male and female teams permitted, each playing their own ball throughout the better-ball competition.
All PGA/LPGA Class A-1, A-2 and A-4 through A-24 members, plus all Life Member classification PGA Professionals in good standing, are eligible to compete in the 18-hole event, as well as all B-8, B-1 and all active LPGA members in good standing.
The entry fee is $150 per player until July 28, 2014, and $175 per player on or after July 29, 2014. Registration is available at www.pgalasvegas.com and includes golf, a forecaddie, breakfast, lunch, gift bag and roundtrip shuttle transportation from the Venetian Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip to Cascata Golf Club. Additional prizes for closest to the pin on all par-3s, a long drive contest and $100 per hole skins game are also included in the entry fee. Tournament players should plan to adhere to the Cascata Golf Club dress code of collared shirts with shorts or slacks.
Tournament participation also includes registration for the PGA Fashion & Demo Experience as well as a 30-minute putting clinic with PGA Professional Stan Utley at 2:30 p.m.
PGA Demo Experience, presented by Magic Nutrition
Competitors in the pro-pro tournament are invited to join all PGA Fashion & Demo Experience attendees for the PGA Demo Experience, presented by Magic Nutrition, following tournament play. The event will encompass the entire Cascata facility and feature new equipment and technology testing at the range and short game greens, a golf vendor village, an indoor merchandise marketplace in the Cascata Ballroom, contests and prizes. Additionally, an industry reception will be offered throughout the Cascata clubhouse and grounds featuring professional networking, refreshments and live music by 2012 American Idol contestant Mahikumakani “Mahi” Crabbe and his band. An AGM 25th anniversary networking event also will be held in the Cascata clubhouse, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m., open to all AGM members and event attendees. PGA Professionals attending the PGA Demo Experience will receive 4 MSR credits in the industry participation category.
Additionally, PGA Professional Stan Utley, PGA Tour winner and one of Golf Digest’s Top 50 Best Teachers in America, will provide hands-on short-game instruction during two one-hour sessions at the 18th hole of Cascata Golf Club during the PGA Demo Experience. Workshops will begin at 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and registered PGA Professionals will receive 1 MSR Education credit for the workshop (separate registration required).
Access to Cascata Golf Club for Attendees
Complimentary transportation to and from The Venetian will be provided to all event attendees. There will be no onsite parking and limited offsite parking at the club. Complimentary round-trip, dedicated shuttle service will depart from and return to The Venetian Tour Bus Area beginning at 7:00 a.m. for tournament players. Shuttle service will offer a return trip to tournament players and begin outbound service for the PGA Demo Experience at 2:30 p.m., continuing throughout the event with departures and returning trips every 20 minutes. The last shuttle departing The Venetian for Cascata will be at 8:00 p.m.
