New Instruction Workshops Introduced at 2012 PGA Expo

Eric Alpenfels, PGA, Presents New Player Instruction Workshops Prior to Demo Night, Aug. 20

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Eric Alpenfels, PGA, will present two, new high-impact instruction workshops at the 2012 PGA Expo on Monday, August 20, 4:00-6:00 p.m., just prior to the PGA Expo Demo Night at the Callaway Golf Center located just off the Las Vegas Strip. A widely recognized PGA teaching professional and Director of the Pinehurst Golf Academy and Golf Instruction at Pinehurst Resort, Alpenfels will offer proven training techniques used to motivate, encourage and develop skills and participation of junior and women golfers in the workshops “The Players of Tomorrow” and “Connecting with Her.”

“We are pleased to work with The PGA of America and Eric Alpenfels to offer these exciting new instruction workshops under the umbrella of the industry-wide Golf 2.0 program,” said PGA Worldwide Golf Exhibitions Industry Vice President John McGeary. “The workshops are a valuable addition to a full menu of PGA Expo resources and specifically designed to help PGA Professionals build membership and drive revenue.”

Complimentary transportation will be provided to the new instruction workshops from the host exhibition venue, The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, and the workshops will be given under cover at the Callaway Golf Center with complimentary beverages and additional professional networking opportunities provided. The annual PGA Expo Demo Night begins immediately following the final workshop where PGA Professionals and golf buyers will be able to field test the latest equipment, training aids and accessories first hand, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., at the Center’s two-tiered 113-stall, lighted driving range, plus the putting and chipping greens.

Registration is limited to first 75 professionals and will be $75 for both workshops, or $50.00 for attendees registering for a full PGA Expo Education Conference pass. Two MSR Credits may be earned by PGA Professionals for participating in the instruction workshops.

Eric Alpenfels is the Director of the Pinehurst Golf Academy and Golf Instruction at Pinehurst Resort. He is a Class “A” Member of the PGA of America and has been part of the Pinehurst family since 1985. His expertise has earned him recognition from Golf Magazine as one of the “Top 100 Teachers in America,” Golf Digest as one of “America’s 50 Greatest Teachers” and U.S. Kids Golf as one of the “Top 50 Teachers for Kids.”

Eric’s activities beyond the fairways of Pinehurst are extensive, and include speaking engagements, contributions to industry publications and participation as an Adjunct Facility of the PGA of America Education Department. In partnership with Dr. Bob Christina, The Golf Academy is conducting research to pioneer the development of new practice techniques and innovative drills. He recently coauthored “Instinct Putting” with Dr. Bob Christina and Dr. Cary Heath.

Each morning begins with a new keynote industry presentation and attendees can participate in a comprehensive education conference. Additionally, the popular PGA Expo Industry Reception will be held Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the Lagasse Stadium in the Palazzo Las Vegas Resort.
